This month’s newsletter spotlighted Distracted Driving!

“In today’s technology-driven world, many people cannot go an hour without checking their emails, text messages or using their phones.

Undoubtedly, the most important time of the day to be free from these distractions is when operating a motor vehicle. Distracted driving caused 3,477 deaths and 391,000 injuries in 2015.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that 660,000 drivers use electronic devices while driving during the day.

Car manufacturers are making it very difficult for drivers to avoid distracted driving. Most new model cars come with intricate infotainment systems. In-car entertainment systems can include video players, music apps, navigation systems, USB connectivity, climate control, Bluetooth technology, and more.
